You pay for your pool, not the average pool

Most pool companies fold chemicals into one flat rate. To make that work they average chemical use across every customer, so everyone pays the same whether their pool needs a lot or a little. On this plan the chemicals on your invoice are the ones that went into your pool. Nothing else.

Lighter use

  • Covered, or shaded part of the day
  • Swimmers mostly on weekends
  • Holds water well

Lower chemical line. This plan usually comes out ahead.

Heavier use

  • Full sun all day
  • Swimmers most days, or a lot of them at once
  • Big pool, or one that takes on fresh water

Higher chemical line. Premium's flat rate may be the better deal, and we'll tell you if it is.

Sun, heat, swimmers and fresh water all use up chlorine. Shade, a cover and lighter use save it. Either way you pay for your own water, and the invoice shows you exactly what went in.

We built this plan for the pool that mostly gets looked at. If you are retired, on a fixed income, or just do not swim much, you should not be paying for the chemicals a busy pool needs. Your invoice reflects your water, nothing else.

What you get every week

Every visit

  • Water tested and balanced
  • Surface skimmed, tile, steps and walls brushed
  • Skimmer and pump baskets emptied
  • Equipment checked and running
  • Photo and service report sent when we leave

How you know we came

  • Same tech every week, not a rotating crew
  • Text before we arrive
  • Photo of your pool after every visit
  • Weekly report with readings and what we added

Billed separately

  • Chemicals, as used, itemized on your invoice
  • Filter cleaning, $100 each, usually twice a year
  • Vacuuming, $125 an hour, rarely needed if your sweep works

How the chemicals are billed

We buy in bulk at our lower price and pass the savings on to you. Every dose is itemized on your invoice, so you can see what went in and what it cost. And you never haul a jug of acid home in your car.

Chemical What it does How often
Liquid chlorine Sanitizer. The main thing a Sacramento pool burns through June to September. Most visits in summer, less in winter
Muriatic acid Brings pH down so the chlorine works. Most visits
Chlorine tabs Slow-release chlorine between visits. Summer, as needed
Sodium bicarbonate Raises alkalinity so pH stays put. Now and then
Shock Fast chlorine boost after a heat wave or a party. Occasional
Conditioner Sunscreen for chlorine. Once or twice a year
Calcium Protects plaster in soft Sacramento water. Once or twice a year
Salt Salt pools only. Billed in addition on every plan. A few bags a year

If your pool needs something beyond routine balancing, we tell you before we do it.

Essential Plus Chems or Premium?

Essential Plus Chems, $135 + chemicals

You pay for what your pool actually uses. Good fit for shaded, covered or smaller pools, pools that get light use, and anyone who wants to see the chemistry line by line.

Premium, $165 flat

Chlorine, sodium bicarbonate and muriatic acid included. One number every month. Good fit for big, sunny, busy pools where the chemical bill would otherwise swing.

Sunfish, $195 flat

Everything in Premium plus two filter cleanings a year, 2 hours of vacuuming a year, an annual phosphate and conditioner treatment and salt cell cleaning.

Salt, calcium and conditioner are billed in addition on every plan. Each plan includes only the chemicals listed on its card.

Questions people ask

Why not just include the chemicals?

Some people want one flat number, and that is what Premium is for. A flat rate has to cover the average pool, so a lightly used pool pays the same as a heavily used one. On Essential Plus Chems you pay for your pool and nobody else's.

How much will my chemicals actually be?

Most pools on this plan run $30 to $50 a month in summer and under $15 in winter. Your first month's invoice tells you exactly where your pool lands, and every month after that shows the same detail.

Is it cheaper than buying chemicals myself?

We buy in bulk at our lower price and pass the savings on to you, and it is already in the pool when you get home. The bigger saving is not overdosing or underdosing, which is what usually turns a pool green or eats a heater.

Can I switch plans later?

Yes. Move up to Premium or Sunfish, or back down, with a text. No contract on any plan.

What is not included?

Filter cleanings ($100 each, usually twice a year), vacuuming ($125 an hour, rarely needed if your sweep is working), salt, green pool recovery and repairs. We tell you before any of those happen.

Where do you service?

East Sacramento, Land Park, the Pocket, Midtown, Natomas, Arden Arcade, Carmichael, Citrus Heights, Rancho Cordova, Fair Oaks, Orangevale, Antelope and West Sacramento. If you are close to one of those, ask.

Ready?

Tell us about your pool and we'll confirm your day and your tech. First visit is usually within the week.
